The rise of self-publishing has vastly increased the demand for an old editorial skill -- manuscript evaluation (also called critiquing). Often you'll be asked to edit a manuscript that just isn't ready for editing. An evaluation lets you guide the writer through the task of reworking the manuscript. A properly prepared evaluation looks at a wide variety of aspects of the manuscript, pointing out what's working and what isn't. Evaluation is what beta readers think they are doing, but at a much more professional level. This webinar will discuss how to evaluate fiction and non-fiction manuscripts.
