Over the summer of 2019, Farm Credit Canada’s (FCC) intranet team worked with partners in Human Resources to redesign content on leave and time off. By ruthlessly applying the organization’s new enterprise policy framework and plain language principles, we replaced 84 web pages with 4 web pages and 16 additional pieces of support material, cutting 27,000 words along the way. Adrienne Gagnon, Content Management Editor at FCC, will walk you through how trusted partnerships, improved technology and new thinking is revolutionizing the way we present employee handbook-type information online for our 1,800+ employees across Canada, in both official languages.
Adrienne Gagnon has worked in corporate communication and a variety of other roles at FCC for more than 20 years. In her current role as Content Management Editor, her main responsibility is to ensure that employee-facing information delivered through the corporate intranet meets employees’ needs and helps them do their jobs. A lifelong word nerd in both of Canada’s official languages, she recently completed an Editing Certificate through Simon Fraser University.
