Ninety percent of the information transmitted to the brain is visual. Half the brain is dedicated to processing visual stimuli. Sixty-five percent of learners are visual learners. With these statistics, PowerPoint is an excellent medium for education. PowerPoint is an essential, and near-universal tool for teaching, but many people get it wrong. Too many words, text that’s difficult to read, cluttered slides, or trivial information rather than key points. When done right, PowerPoint is an effective means through which to relay ideas and information. This seminar teaches how to create and how to edit PowerPoint. With an understanding of how people learn, of how information should be grouped, and how the mind process visual information, editors can increase retention and comprehension.
