Book series can be lucrative endeavours for indie authors and publishers alike, but they also come with their own challenges. In this two-part webinar, you will learn about how editing a series differs from editing an individual book.

The first session will identify different kinds of series and the steps you should take to conduct developmental edits on a book in a series. You’ll learn the questions you should ask before taking on a series, sequel, or companion novel; common pitfalls and how to avoid them; and tips for managing author expectations and emotions.

The second session will address line editing sequels, prequels, and companion books. You’ll learn tips for keeping a series consistent, how to maintain a series style sheet—and what to do if you’re not given one—and when it’s okay to switch things up.
